In this tutorial you will learn to do a fully procedural environment editable in real time.
First you will create the 3d model using a plane displaced by an height map. Then, the same height map will be used as an input to create a color map. We'll then review some basic combined 2D/3D compositing and the last part of the tutorial shows how to use particles to create the trees.
Requirements:
  • A particle sprite
  • An height map (or knowledge of SMODE’s particle system)
  • A beer
  • Another beer
Start here: Create a mountain from a displacement map
