External peripheral exchanging data with Smode

Devices are external peripheral allowed to exchange data with Smode.
They can be input devices, output devices or both at the same time. They can be physical, software or virtual.
All devices manipulated by Smode can be seen in the Devices Panel.
Note that a device can be recreated or muted directly from the Element tree thanks the Automate Device tool.


  • Identifier ( Device Identifier): Is the unique identifier of an external device
  • Status Status of the device (Read Only).
    Informs on the state of the device, or of connectivity issues.
  • Mute Used to allow to temporary disable a device

Audio Device - Use audio in Smode

Control Device - Use any external controller in MIDI or OSC (+ DMX and ArtNet on Smode Station)

Video Input Device - Video Input Devices are device allowing Smode to grab video stream

Video Output Device - Video Output Device are device allowing to send video stream out of Smode

Clock Device - In use to bind an animation to Time Code

Storage Device - Disk and Drive Used by Smode
